In the Name of Allah, the
Gracious, the Merciful
Donald Trump, in his
inaugural address as President of USA, said that he would work for complete
eradication of ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ from the surface of the earth.
What is Radical Islam he
is referring to? Does it include ‘terrorism’, as he mischievously implies?
History is witness to an extraordinarily
shining example of Radical Islam set by none other than Prophet Muhammad (peace
on him) himself! For 13 long years, his own people at Makkah had relentlessly
harassed the Prophet just because he declared, ‘There is no god but Allah!’
Then they – the Makkans – had sent armies to eradicate the nascent Islamic
State at Medina, รก la our Donald now,
from the surface of the earth, but without success of course! And when the
Prophet later marched triumphantly into Makkah, he pardoned all his arch
enemies there!! There was no mass massacre, no raping of women on a massive
scale, and no massive destruction of public properties, as routinely done by
modern national armies when they conquer neighboring territories!!!
That was the true
exhibition of Radical Islam! Peace, mercy, goodwill, justice
towards one and all!
But it is too much to
expect Donald Trump to sincerely study what Radical Islam is! Like any Tom,
Dick, and Harry, he goes by common perception. And the common perception among
a large number of non-Muslims is that Islam is an evil religion!
And I blame the Muslim
community all over the world at large, themselves, for this utterly false
perception. The Qur’aan advices them to continue doing good and righteous deeds,
without fear and favour and despite facing trying adversities, and to have
patience and trust in the One Creator of all in giving them ultimate justice.
Muslims of the modern
world, generally, have failed to follow this Qur’aanic advice. Faced with
seemingly unending atrocities and injustices around them, they lose patience and
faith, and resort to retaliatory violence which may affect even innocents. They
have thus lost Help from the Guiding Divine Hand, and are obviously facing
ignominy as envisaged in the Qur’aan.
They are themselves
responsible for the negative image of Islam Donald Trump gets on his retina.
Guide
us back to the Qur’aanic Path, Allah!

The Qur'aanic advice, in the circumstances, to those who believe is: "Those indeed who say ‘Allah is Our Lord’ and then remain steadfast, they shall have no fear then, nor shall they grieve!" [Verse 46:13]
ReplyDeleteIn other words, do your duty, do nothing wrong, and have complete faith in the just Lord of us all.
Muslim community is part and parcel of the British society, paying all sorts of direct and in-direct taxes. When there are thousands of state funded church schools , why not state funded Muslim schools.
DeleteMuslim population is on the increase in all western countries because of immigration, high birth rate and conversion. There will never be an end to immigration from Muslim countries. Islamic studies should be a compulsory subject in all schools and colleges for the benefit of the western people and Muslim children should have their own state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers where they could develop their cultural, linguistic and spiritual identities, otherwise, they would be lost in western jungle. Muslim schools are nothing to do with segregation or integration. It is purely an educational issue.
A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. The whole world belongs to Muslims. It does not mean that we are going to throw native Brits into English channel or force them to live in reservations like Red Indian. They are going to live side by side with the Muslims and with other minority communities. Why can't each nationality and religion keep its own identity. The animal world can see it. Of the 40 species of sparrows they will not cross breed. This will keep the beauty of each bird. People should learn from them.
Multiculturalism is not about integration but about cultural plurality. It is not about separation but about respect and the deepening awareness of Unity in Diversity. Each culture will maintain its own intrinsic value and at the same time would be expected to contribute to the benefit of the whole society. Multiculturalism can accommodate diversity of all kinds – cultural, philosophical and religious – so that we can create a world without conflict and strife. Britain can assume the role of accommodation and concern for all peoples, for our planet and indeed for our survival. Multi-Culturalism is even more important and crucial after 9/11 and 7/7. Muslim youths are also likely to feel alienated by a focus on shared Brutishness, rather than multicultural diversity. Rather than promoting a single British “us” teaching should acknowledge that “us” can be diverse and plural. Children should be encouraged to explore differences in appearance, history and religion to reduce social and educational fears.
No one has any problem when: Jews keep beards and wear their traditional caps Christian priests and nuns wear their religious outfits Buddhist monks wear orange robes Sikhs keep beards and wear turbans Indian aunties wear Sarees (cross streets and hang out in Wal-Mart) Yeah but if any Muslim male keeps beard or if any Muslim girl wears hijab then everyone has problem. It's Freedom when you go naked but it's extremism when you wear hijab - just plain hypocrisy! Looking at the case of France, a major secular nation, I believe it is also not allowing women freedom by not letting her to wear her choice of clothing as it supposedly "clashes with French secular values".
